Re: Collaborating on group tasks
______________________________________________________________________
It has been brought to my attention that the two of you may be experiencing some differences in your work styles. Sometimes, it can be difficult to work with other individuals because not everyone completes tasks the same way; that is completely understandable. However, we should address this conflict sooner, rather than later, to prevent inefficient use of company time.
Due to the positions that the two of you possess, you will be working together frequently. I need to stress that this means communication between you two is crucial to being successful. Perhaps by getting to know each other’s working styles, it will help sort out an action plan for working together.
I have included a few suggestions I have to potentially help solve the situation:
-
Arrange a meeting between the two of you to discuss how each of you completes tasks.
-
Set up a weekly schedule to determine when you will meet to collaborate on your work.
-
Be consistent with both verbal and written communication.
-
Stay open minded about the differences in your working styles.
-
Trust in one another that each task will be submitted.
Please take some time to review these suggestions and use them however you see best.
I realize that adapting to someone else’s working styles can be challenging. Once again, I highly recommend you both maintain forms of communication. Individually, you have both proven to be great employees and have accomplished a lot thus far. I assure you that this situation will get easier once you have familiarized yourselves in how the other person works. I have no doubt that by working together, you both will become successful.
